Since this blog is about being a mother of two, I thought I should start it out by telling my 2 birthstories. We will start out today with Hadley's. Here goes...
With both of my children I was induced so I never actually had the whole call up the hubby and tell him that I am in labor experience. Here we go with Hadley's story. They are both going to be long so sorry. With Hadley I had frequent high blood pressure during the pregnancy and everytime it was high the Dr.'s sent me to get the tests done for Pre-eclampsia which came back negative every time. So at our last Drs. appointment on Friday, June 10th 2005 I compained that I had not felt the baby move as much as normal so they did a "non-stress test" and hooked me up to a monitor which monitored the babies heartbeat as well as any contractions I was having for about an hour. The Dr. kept coming in and saying that the babies heartbeat was non-responsive (they want the heartbeat to vary a lot, if it doesn't it is non-responsive which is bad). So, because of the bad non-stress test we got to have the 4 part ultrasound test ( I don't remember what it is called but it tests whether the baby is ok or not). There are 4 parts and Hadley passed 3 out of 4 which means that she was technically good to go but because of the bad non-stress test, the Dr. sent us to the hospital for monitoring anyways. So we went to the hospital and were there for about 3 hours. Our Dr. was there because he was delivering a baby and said that although our tests looked ok, he wanted to schedule us for induction on Monday the 13th (which would have been 4 days before my due date). So... Sunday June 12th we went to the hospital at 9:00pm to be checked in. We went upstairs and got into our room. I put on my gown and got in bed. They came and put the IV in my arm. They came at around 11:00 to check with ultrasound 1 final time to see the babys position and then inserted the Cervadil onto my cervix. I spent the entire night unable to sleep despite the 2 ambien they gave me. I was having cramps and burning in where they put the Cervadil. So at 7:00am they came to wake me (although I was not sleeping) and took out the cervadil, they said that I was 1 cm. dialated and 75% effaced, big deal I was 1 cm. dialated and 50% effaced before the Cervadil. So I took a shower and waited. At 8:00am they came in and started the pitocin. They said that "I would know when it was time for an epidural and to just ask for it". So around 9:00am they decided to break my water. I started feeling some action soon after and it wasn't really that bad but I decided I couldn't deal with the pain until 8:00pm (when they told me they thought she would be born) so I got the epidural and was able to take a quick nap until 10:00am when the Dr came in to check me. He said that I was 8 cm and that this baby was probably going to be born by 12:00pm. So I thought he was kidding and didn't really belive him because they had originally told me that she would not be born before 8:00pm. Needless to say I got ready anyways. So around 11:00am I was fully dialated and ready to push. I started pushing and at 12:17pm my beautiful daughter was born. Hadley Grace was 8 pounds, 4 ounces and 21 and a half inches long. The whole procedure was easy and painless. We were in the LDR for a few hours because I bleed too much when they took out the epidural but other than that things went smoothly. No problem. If you had asked me I would highly recommend it. We were in the hospital for another 2 days (while I was on some nice pain medicine). Then we were discharged and off we went. Everything was great...

Welcome
Hello everyone! Welcome to my blog. I am new to this whole blogging thing, so you will have to excuse me as I learn the ropes so to speak. I am a wife and a mother to 2 wonder children under 2 (hence the name of the blog). My kids names are Hadley Grace (19 months) and Grayson George (4 months). Last name, lets just say McC for now. Join me as I try to stay sane while keeping up with 2 young children! My hopes are to tell our daily escapades in a humorous way as well as give some useful advice and insight into motherhood and baby products in general. Hopefully this won't bore you to tears!
